Practicing Awareness
You can never lose when you view the universe as a guide rather than an enemy.
Hi everyone!
As Pisces season is coming to an end, I think it is important to start doing some reflection and revision to the way we interact with others as well as ourselves. Aries season is up next and there is already tension in the air with 4 planets in Pisces (talk about delusion) so let’s prepare accordingly y’all.
Hopefully you have already read my last post Intuition and Vulnerability and did some journaling using my questions. In some of my earlier posts, I talked briefly about practicing being present now let’s put that skill to action. One way to practice applying your new skill of being present is to create space for yourself to acknowledge any triggers you may have. By reprogramming your reactions to triggering situations or people, you’ll be able to be in control. This practice will also help you acknowledge parts of yourself you may not be aware of.
First, get comfortable! Make sure you are in a safe space and set the mood with candles and incense. Turn on some music or even chakra frequencies. Whatever works for you bebe, it may take a few tries to figure it out.
Next, take about 10 minutes to blindly journal anything that comes to mind as you lay or sit comfortably. Make sure you take your time with this step allow yourself to release. So, do not skip out on writing something down. I know it can be easy to overlook certain voices we may hear in our heads but it is crucial to opening up that channel of inner knowing.
After you finishing journaling, try to reflect on a current situation and/or person(s) in your life that makes you tense or anxious. This part is the actual work by listening and healing your inner child. Often, people that were ignored as children tend to ignore their most deepest wounds in their adult lives. I’ve said it before vulnerability is the key to spiritual alignment. So let’s get into it!
Ask yourself the following questions:
Where is that feeling located in your body?
What chakra is associated with that body part?
Remember that our bodies hold trauma and locating the area of tension could help you release physical, emotional, and mental pain. You’ve heard the phrase “our bodies tell us what we need” but have you actually tried to listen and take care of any bodily feelings. Try some yoga videos on YouTube associated with the chakra you identified.
The main purpose of this activity is to train yourself to recognize what your triggers are in order to address them properly. You may notice that some triggers or uncomfortable feelings may not even be your own. Unfortunately, people often project their insecurities, expectations, and idealizations onto us. The upside to this fact is that we can control how the situation affects us because conscious minds are able to control their own reality. Actually the next time you find yourself in a predicament, try to find the lesson rather than waste energy on reacting instantly.
Once you refocus your energy it is no longer at other people’s disposal.
